Emily’s yoga journey began in 2009, driven by a deep personal connection to the practice and its transformative effects on the mind and body. In 2016, she formalised her training by completing the 200-hour Hatha Yoga Instructor Certification with VYASA Yoga School under the mentorship of Mr. Manoji Thakur. Her dedication to deepening her practice also led her to connect with Dr. H. R. Nagendra—founder of VYASA in Bangalore and personal yoga consultant to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi—during the Singapore Diabetes Conference.

With a strong foundation in traditional Hatha yoga, Emily has further enhanced her therapeutic approach by completing specialised courses in Trigger Points Yoga and Myofascial Release. These tools allow her to guide her students with greater care, especially in managing physical tension and improving overall mobility.

Since becoming a certified teacher, Emily has shared her knowledge in a wide range of settings—from VYASA Singapore and hot yoga studios to NGOs like FAST Singapore, corporate wellness sessions, and  outdoor community classes. She is also a certified trainer with both People’s Association (PA) and ActiveSG, regularly teaching at community centres and leading chair yoga classes for seniors at active ageing centres. 

Emily’s teaching is grounded in compassion, accessibility, and holistic wellbeing.  Her classes are ideal for  beginners to intermediate practitioners, blending traditional Hatha postures with therapeutic techniques and mindful breathing. She believes that beyond the physical, yoga is a powerful tool for emotional resilience, mental clarity, and reconnecting with oneself—especially in today’s fast-paced urban world. With her warm energy and thoughtful guidance, Emily creates a supportive space for every student to experience the deeper benefits of yoga, both on and off the mat.
